Audiences in the UK won't get to see Ant-Man and The Wasp until August at the earliest, but fans elsewhere will be given the chance to experience Marvel's latest adventure next week, July 5.

Reactions have been overwhelmingly positive so far, with praise lavished upon Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly especially, but one character fans are particularly keen to find more about is Ghost, the film's primary antagonist. At least, she's presented as one in the film's trailers - chatter since has indicated there could be a markedly different angle in place, one that begins to make sense once we consider the character's comic book roots.

Played by Hannah John-Kamen in the film, Ghost sports a grey suit that allows them to phase through matter. It's a device tied to Pym tech (hence the concern from Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne), but more interesting are John-Kamen's comments on the character herself. This is very much her own creation, treating the role as a "blank slate" with which she was able to make it her own.

Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t clue you all in on what’s what with Ghost, what the comics say, and how she’ll impact the MCU going forward.
