Birds Of Prey - 10 Reasons To Be Excited

9. Ewan McGregor's Black Mask

Ewan McGregor is enjoying something of a renaissance in his career as of late. Once the Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, McGregor's career has fallen into a bit of a slump, with a dedicated Prequel Trilogy fandom able to keep his pop culture relevance afloat. But, lo and behold, McGregor has entered into the DCEU as the infamous Black Mask of Gotham, a ruthless crime lord that became the top boss in the comics after the controversial War Games storyline.

Now in Birds of Prey, Black Mask is set to continue his ruthless streak with Victor Zsasz by his side, and the rumoured R Rating should suggest that there won't be any punches pulled.

In the trailer alone, Black Mask can be seen intimidating Quinn in his hypnotic night club, and interrogating a suspended Cassandra Cain.

But perhaps the most promising titbit of footage is Sionis having some sort of breakdown in his creepily decorated bedroom. The DCEU has struggled to build captivating villains, but if this balance of violent intimidation and emotional depth has struck right, than movie-goers could be in for a treat when Birds of Prey comes out in February.
