8. When He Branded Criminals
Before Ben Affleck was branding people as Batman in Batman v Superman, Moon Knight was imprinting criminals within the pages of Marvel comics in the mid-2000s.
The lunar hero went one step further than the ‘Caped Crusader’ by physically carving his symbol into the foreheads of criminals. Charlie Huston’s (2006 - 2009) critical Moon Knight run delved into the character’s extremism as he tries to deal with the worst elements of society.
Issue 13 depicts a criminal, who has been recently branded by the brutal vigilante, complaining to the police about his cruel punishment. The detective, who is listening to the criminal, proceeds to open a file that contains pictures of dozens of other criminals that has been similarly branded, some multiple times as they did not get the hint the first time, they crossed Moon Knight’s path.
