Over the millennia, Thor's exploits and battles have become legendary. With his trusty hammer, Mjolnir, Asgard's champion has freed worlds, toppled evil empires, and bench-pressed the Midgard Serpent. Time and time again, he has protected his realm of Asgard and Earth from every conceivable threat, proving to be one of the greatest heroes in the cosmos. While facing seemingly unconquerable enemies like the Mangog, Galactus, Apocalypse or Hela, Thor always comes out on top.
But there comes a time where the greatest heroes will encounter a foe that is too powerful to overcome. In recent comics, Thor has faced an enemy that exceeds all others: Gorr the God Butcher.
For thousands of years, this mysterious entity has travelled across the stars, ending the life of anyone who claims to be a god. Although his past is shrouded in mystery, it is clear that Gorr covets a universe devoid of godlings more than anything. No one has ever come close to defeating him, and there is no question that Gorr's power dwarfs that of the God of Thunder.
Thor may be Mighty, but how can he be expected to defeat someone who can kill a literal god?
