Titans Season 2 Premiere: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Trigon'

5. Deathstroke's Debut

Fans of the comics (and the brilliant animated series) will know that there are no Teen Titans without Deathstroke. A common enemy of the young and inspiring superheroes, Slade Wilson has proven to be a sword-wielding thorn in their sides for decades - and it seems like the series is finally ready to follow suit.

With Esai Morales' veteran version of the character making his debut in the premiere's closing moments, it seems like the resurgence of the Titans has driven the once-feared assassin to pick up his sword one more time. And that, more than anything, means we're likely going to see the show's interpretation of his well-documented history with the heroes.

Deathstroke's introduction lends itself nicely to the new tone too, immediately informing us that we're in for a very different show. While the first season was larger-than-life and supernatural, this one will be grounded and streetwise which, all things considered, is the right direction for the series to head in.
