10 Greatest Fake Pro Wrestlers In Movies

9. Captain Insano (The Waterboy)

WWE Zeus
Touchstone Pictures

In keeping with the man behind the character, Captain Insano turns heel midway through his main scene. Accepting a call in from Adam Sandler’s infantile Bobby Boucher Jr. character, Insano maintains his composure at first. Pointing out Captain Insano’s copious sweat out put bell to bell, Bobby offers to become Captain Insano’s waterboy. Assuming the caller is a child (very understandable given Sandler’s ridiculous voice in the film), Captain Insano initially finds the offer to be endearing. It’s all well and good until Bobby reveals he is 31 years old, causing an explosion of hysterics from the big man on the TV.

Paul ‘Big Show’ Wight turns in an on point spoof of Cartoon Era style promos as the giant-sized star. His sudden eruption into off script cackling and mockery of the principal character also provides a good laugh. Coming out at a time when Wight was still The Giant on WCW Monday Nitro, Captain Insano provides a nice showcase for the big man’s comedic chops. Perhaps Vince McMahon took note given the insane amount of absurd comedy segments and promos the Big Show’s been subjected to in WWE.
