10 Things We Desperately Hope To See In The Mortal Kombat Film

In the trailer, we see Sub-Zero shank Scorpion with an icicle composed of his own blood before hurling him into an ice wall. This sort of elaborate attack is clearly inspired by the Fatal Blows from Mortal Kombat X and 11. A Fatal Blow is Mortal Kombat's equivalent of a Super Combo, where one kombatant unleashes an overelaborate and devastating move on their unfortunate opponent.

But do you know what's better than hearing bones shattering and rib-cages caving in? Watching it happen in fine detail. In some games, you can perform different types of Super Combos called X-Ray Moves and Krushing Blows. When these attacks are executed, the camera zooms in and displays an x-ray on the opponent in slow-motion to highlight the damage.

If the film wants to emphasise the gore, there is no better way to do this than showing a fighter's liver bursting, a skull splintering into a dozen pieces, or a femur powdering to dust.

Inserting one or two of these moves in the film would only take a few seconds but it would mean the world to Mortal Kombat fans.
