10 Trailers That Were Way Better Than Their Films

8. The Last Airbender

Last Airbender There are far too many problems with this film to list. All you need to do is mention this mess of an adaptation to any Avatar: The Last Airbender fan and you€™d be lucky to hear a nice word said about it. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the film was universally panned by critics and audiences alike. Its atrocious dialogue, €œI remember the first time I discovered you were a bender€, and poor action sequences meant that the trailer, lauded as a potential return to form for Shyamalan, was the best the film had to offer. Sometimes simple trailers are the best. The Last Airbender€™s trailer is just that, with one take of our protagonist Aang performing a mesmerizing fight sequence by himself. With impressive special effects thrown in at various points and a huge reveal at the end, the trailer showed an ingenuity and craftsmanship that was unfortunately missing in its feature. http://youtu.be/e0ZjjMBXMpk

As a pretty nerdy guy, I've loved film and television since I was a wee lad. Growing up in Ireland, The Den was the show to watch with it playing Batman The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and everything in between. I have an MA in Radio and Television Production and have written for various sites, hope you enjoy my articles/lists for What Culture!
