12 Worst Video Game Movies Of All Time

11. Doom

Alone In The Dark
Universal Pictures

The primary complaint from gamers disappointed with an adaptation is just how much the movie has strayed from its source material. Some of this is by necessity; an audience unfamiliar with the game's story may require some kind of surrogate character. In other cases, such as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, there's just not a lot to work with plot-wise.

But Doom is lethally faithful to its source material, up to and including a scene that replicates a first person shooter game. You know what's fun? Playing video games with your friends. Watching your friends play video games, on the other hand... less so.

As a final F-you to fans, the movie teases the use of the game's legendary BFG (Big F$*%&g Gun), only to have it used once and re-named the Bio-Force Gun.

The characters are cardboard cutouts and the action is always off by a mark, Doom spelled out its ultimate fate in the title.
