It might not have been very good, but Fifty Shades Of Grey could well have changed the entire perception of sex in mainstream cinema. It was just a shame that what came along with that more liberal approach to what happens behind closed bedroom doors was so utterly horrific that a good proportion of people simply refused to go and see it.
That raised the question forever; if a nude scene is filmed and nobody sees it, did it even happen. In the case of Fifty Shades, lots of deeply frustrated people could confirm that it did, but what of the films and TV shows that were consciously limited in their audiences, whether because of the platform they were released on or their general lack of quality?
In those cases, a lot of those films ended up spending an inordinate amount of money giving their stars enough for the nudity clauses even as they failed to make good money at the box office. And in others, the nude scenes were so obscure that they required a pause button to truly notice them.
These are the nude scenes you may have missed in the past year...
