15 Weirdest Moments In Harry Potter Films

Riddikulus! You can say that again!

It's hard to believe that it's been nearly 20 years since the Harry Potter films began. Where has the time gone? Many fans will have fond memories of growing up with this beloved franchise alongside the iconic characters who were growing up themselves with us.

The films will go down as landmarks of British cinema, just as the books have gone down as landmarks of British literature. However, being a series about wizards interacting with the real world, it's obviously not without its weird moments. Sure the excuse of "a wizard did it" is the classic for a lot of the problems within fantasy, but these following issues are so weird and beyond explanation they can't be ignored.

Some of these problems might be only slight (and sometimes seem like nit-picking), others are just too odd and out of place, but all are undoubtedly weird, be they in-universe or decisions by the filmmakers.

Keep in mind that this list only includes films from the Harry Potter film series, so Fantastic Beasts' horny rhino isn't included. So, here's 15 weird moments on film from The Boy Who Lived.

15. Student Shenanigans? - The Goblet Of Fire

Had this actually been in the film, this easily would have made the number one spot. However, it's in the deleted scenes of the Goblet of Fire so it gets off lightly here. That said though, the fact this moment was shot in the first place just boggles the mind!

Remember the moment at the Yule Ball where Harry returns from somewhere before Hermione sends them off to bed? This scene explains where he was. Harry wanders around the courtyard full of different carriages when one of them starts shaking. The steamed up window and the half-naked Durmstrang student makes it very clear what's happening.

This was also meant to be the scene where Snape and Igor Karkaroff have a confrontation, an important moment, but instead you're just left thinking to yourself "aren't all these students under 18?" Best just not to go there.
