20 Films That Are Guaranteed To Haunt Your Dreams

3. Salo, Or The 120 Days Of Sodom

Salo One of the most infamous movies ever made. Salo is a disgusting, horrid, vile movie that just happens to be a masterpiece. While the narrative literally is a check list for every awful thing you could ever do to anyone the point that the film is trying to make comes across loud and clear. Paolo Pasolini imbues Salo with a very realistic touch to the events, which help it mirror the fascist regime of Benito Mussolini's last days as the leader of the Republic of Salo. While the film is incredibly hard to watch it is a masterpiece in terms of what it sets out to accomplish. Pasolini uses the movie to critique the evils of Nazi Germany and fascism through the extremely depraved acts committed by the four main characters in Salo. This makes it one of the most poignant and difficult films to watch but also one of the most important satires ever made.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
