20 Gross Movie Make-Up Effects That Make Us Ill

16. Saw II - Needle Pit Diver

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrpa7S3WQS0 The Saw series is always one for disgusting mutilation and heartbreaking defeat, however, it is in my opinion that a lot of what goes on in these films look fake and overdone. After being exposed to something so bloody and so ridiculous, we as an audience take a minute to sit back and relax because the believability and our ability to relate to the carnage is no longer there. It was in Saw 2, however, that we got a taste of real shock and disgust. When rat race contender Amanda takes a dive into the pool of syringes, we were left closing our mouths to keep it all down. Everyone knows what a needle feels like - it hurts, it€™s uncomfortable, and we hate it. For Amanda to be launched head first into a pit of needles, then dig around ruthlessly, the glass clinking against itself and her screams echoing all around, a lot of us couldn€™t even really watch the whole thing. The make-up effect in the aftermath was what really made us sick, though. As she crawls out of the pit, she is covered, head to toe, in syringes, needles sticking our of her arms, legs, you name it. Picking them off of her one by one was a job none of us would have ever wanted.

15. Poltergeist III - Donna's Rebirth

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GlVV_IACjg Originally, I had wanted to put a different scene from Poltergeist III on this list - the Evil Donna and Evil Scott ripping each other€™s faces apart in the mirrors, until I stumbled upon this one that make me feel even sicker. The third installment of the Poltergeist series was an unsung representation of what spirits are really capable of. It also included the use of a Speak€™N€™Spell, which is creepy enough. However, it is in the scene where clairvoyant Tangina is trying to get Carol Anne back on our side when the magic begins. Tangina is inexplicably killed by the spirits and the couple€™s daughter, Donna, is reborn from the other side through the body of Tangina - literally, through her body. There are chunks of meat being ripped apart, goo and sweat covering Donna€™s face, and the screaming! Oh, the screaming! When I first saw this scene, I was absolutely shaken and disturbed.
