20 Gross Movie Make-Up Effects That Make Us Ill

14. Slither - Grant Is Buggin' Out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeFPsvoOJN8 In everyone€™s favorite horror comedy about space slugs, Slither provided us with plenty of disgusting movie-make up effects. It is Grant€™s transformation, however, that takes the cake here. I have attached the clip of when his transformation is only beginning as it looks absolutely disgusting and all too real. Allergic reactions can swell up to the size of bowling balls if you€™re not careful and the artists did a great job of portraying Grant€™s face when introduced to the alien slug inside him. It looks like a real infection, a very realistic job well done. What is disgusting is that we all know what his wife is going through when she sees him, which is €œplease don€™t touch me, please don€™t touch me, oh God, please don€™t touch me€.

13. Halloween H20 - These Boots Were Made For Draggin'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTq3-zG1lCE What was promised to be the last installment of the Michael Myers€™ led murder spree, this film delivered one of the most disgusting movie make-ups. Up until now, Michael has been pretty tame, a few quick stabs and he moves on to the next victim. Unfortunately for co-ed, Sarah, she met Myers just as he was getting used to being resourceful. Taking a stab in the leg before jumping into a dumbwaiter, her leg quickly becomes dead weight when said dumbwaiter practically severs it from her body. Dragging her leg behind her, attached only by sinewy tissues, Sarah leaves her blood trail all over the kitchen linoleum before falling victim to Michael€™s kitchen knife. The sheer horror and pain that we offer up when we see that leg being dragged behind our terrified heroine issues a shock wave through our system, making leg severing all to real.

I am a college graduate of Penn State with two bachelors in the arts. When I'm not writing or performing, I am an SFX make-up artist for local up and coming films in the Houston area. I love horror movies, James Spader, and will watch anything suggested to me.
