20 Gross Movie Make-Up Effects That Make Us Ill

10. Pathology - Ready For Your Autopsy?

pathology Pathology is a perfect example of a horror movie that was not given the chance to shine. This should have been a hit because of its plot alone, but has been put in the corner by other, more mediocre movies with better publicity. At any rate, I have selected the autopsy scene from this film because it truly makes me sick. Our hero, having just dissected his fiance, is faced with an opportunity to kill the guy responsible for her death and does so gladly. After having his senses numbed, the killer is laid flat on the exam table and sliced open, as if an autopsy were being performed. Except, he€™s still alive. He is alive, in fact, for seven minutes before the drugs pumped into his system kill him slowly. Our hero methodically takes out organ after organ before snapping his ribcage in two, which is also when the screen cuts to black and credits roll. The blood pouring out, the organs that were constructed, it all overwhelms us with disgust and shock that it is very hard to watch this scene. We want the killer to get what€™s coming to him, but we don€™t exactly know how to feel when we see it, second by second.

9. Silent Hill - Burning The Police Force

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYo-1xrkIzk Nothing is more inescapable than being burned at the stake. When we first see one of our fighters, Officer Cybil Bennett, has been captured, we think, surely, she will be spared. Someone will come in at the right moment and foil the plans of the dastardly ignorant cult, but it doesn€™t happen. We watch moment by moment as Cybil is burned, her face licked by the flames that undoubtedly kill her. Watching her skin open up, the wounds cauterizing themselves makes us squirm. When she is pulled away from the flame, however, we are truly disgusted. Her charred, blackened face, still smoking, has left nothing of Cybil€™s identity and we know that she isn€™t coming back from this one.
