11. The Equalizer 2

Previous Film: While it bears little resemblance to the classic Edward Woodward-starring TV show it spawned from, last year's Denzel Washington-starring action thriller proved to be a visceral, tremendously entertaining vehicle for the aging actor. The R-rating certainly didn't hurt. Why It Needs To Happen: Because Denzel Washington is one of the few actors of his fame and popularity who has never once made a sequel, and while that might seem like a mark of integrity, this is one movie that really could spawn a fun franchise. Think Taken but less repetitive and better-shot. Or hell, just cross Taken over with The Equalizer, and then you're really talking. Current Status: Columbia were talking up a sequel before the first film even hit cinemas following hugely successful test screenings, and while the movie is already being written, whether it actually happens depends entirely on Washington. If he continues to reject the idea of starring in a sequel, then no dice, considering that recasting the role would be a terrible idea.
