Previous Film: While it lacked the originality and intelligence of the first film, Wayne's World 2 was still an enjoyable reunion with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey's supremely likeable rocker protagonists. Sadly, though, it was trounced at the box office by the likes of Mrs. Doubtfire and Schindler's List. Why It Needs To Happen: Because with YouTube, iTunes and American Idol, the music industry has changed significantly in the 22 years since the second film. There's so much potential to mock current musical trends and truly make Wayne's World 3 a smart, relevant sequel. Current Status: Like Gremlins, fans have been after this for decades, but studios just didn't see it as worth their investment at the time. Though in recent years the two lead actors have played up the idea of a third film, it doesn't seem like any serious ground-work has been laid, so it'll probably be another one that sadly doesn't happen, despite a totally promising concept.
