2018 has come to a close, and it was certainly a fantastic year for entertainment on the whole.
The biggest AAA video games mostly delivered on expectations (sorry, Fallout 76), a freaking Aquaman movie is inexplicably heading towards $1 billion at the box office, and Netflix once again cemented their status as the crowned kings of streaming movies and TV.
But 2019 is now upon us, and it's sure to be a marquee year you won't want to miss. For starters, the current gaming generation enters its final full year, with developers set to release their most awaited AAA offerings before Sony and Microsoft unleashes their new platforms in 2020.
Meanwhile in Hollywood, Disney will reign supreme with their biggest year on record, damn-near guaranteed to become the first movie studio to gross $10 billion in a single year.
Netflix will continue to bolster their industry dominance, while the world of sport will offer up its usual slate of annual extravaganzas, and the geek contingent should keep their eyes peeled for the usual array of glossy pop-culture conferences.
So, mark your calendar with these 23 must-see, must-play events over the next 12 months...
