7. Bruce Banner Doesn't Want To Be The Hulk
One of the central aspects to Bruce Banner's status as the Hulk is that he
doesn't want to be the Hulk. The majority of superheroes, whether they are born with their powers or acquire them by accident, eventually come to embrace their new-found abilities and recognise that they are in the position to do good. This often makes for the first and most memorable character arc that we get to see in subsequent movie adaptations. Banner, on the other hand, is actively seeking a way to
stop being the Hulk. He sees it as a curse and a burden, and something that is ruining his life. When you look at it like that, and consider the adaptation process, you can glimpse a lot of problems. It's not particularly interesting to watch somebody trying to find a cure or rid themselves of their abilities as much as it is watching somebody
embracing and coming to terms with them.
