Batman Auditions: Cillian Murphy In The Batsuit & Anne Hathaway As Catwoman

Batman Begins Cillian Murphy Yesterday we posted a clip of Christian Bale's winning Batman audition from The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray (which hits US stores today), and today, more images have emerged online, in the way of stills from two more audition tapes. The first is Cillian Murphy's unsuccessful audition as Bruce Wayne/Batman, one which having seen these images, I think we will agree just wasn't a good fit. His thin, wiry frame makes him more closely resemble a kid dressing up in their dad's suit, and placing him as Scarecrow instead turned out to be far more fortuitous: Batman Begins2Batman Begins Cillian Murphy Then we have Anne Hathaway's successful audition as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, playing opposite an unspecified woman in a dress and then a makeshift Catwoman costume, before seductively draping herself over the Batpod: The Dark Knight Rises Anne HathawayThe Dark Knight Rises Anne Hathaway BThe Dark Knight Rises Anne Hathaway CThe Dark Knight Rises Anne Hathaway D For now, these are the only glimpses of the two that we have, though with the set releasing today, we can expect that the full video clips will be released online soon enough. Fingers crossed for auditions from some of the other actors who tried out for Batman (Joshua Jackson, Eion Bailey, Hugh Dancy, Billy Crudup, Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal) and Catwoman (Jessica Biel and Keira Knightley are the only two confirmed to have screen-tested other than Hathaway). The immense six-disc Blu-ray set is, as we say, available from today in all good stores in the U.S., containing a wealth of never before seen features, and new collectible memorabilia. The definitive box set we've all been waiting for, then. What do you think of Cillian's "look" in the Batsuit and as Bruce? Let us know in the comments below.
