Did Tom Holland Just Confirm Major Avengers 4 Theory?

The Spider-Man star has done it again!

Tom Holland is notoriously loose-lipped when it comes to MCU spoilers, so much so he can't even be trusted with his own scripts, and the Spider-Man actor might've given away the biggest reveal yet.

In a pre-Infinity War interview that's just been posted by Emergency Awesome, Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch are asked about the difficulty of delivering their lines, to which the young actor responds:

"He has the most difficult lines though. He has to talk about so much Quantum Realm stuff. I just have to talk about, ‘Yeah, man, that’s awesome!’ So mine is easy but his is so difficult!”

Again, this takes place before Infinity War, but the Quantum Realm doesn't feature into that movie. He could instead be referring back to Strange's solo film for a point of reference, but the Quantum Realm is merely shown there, rather than explicitly discussed. It's also worth pointing out Cumberbatch's face as he says it, with the actor quickly looking down and saying he talks about "stuff".

The evidence there points to Holland giving away a big part of Avengers 4's plot, although it's one fans have been speculating about since Infinity War was released, and even more so since Ant-Man and the Wasp: namely, that the Quantum Realm will be used as a means of travelling back in time (and/or to another dimension) to bring the dead heroes back to life and defeat Thanos.

Ant-Man and the Wasp's mid-credits scene sees Scott Lang go back into the Quantum Realm to retrieve energy for Ghost, but while he's inside Hank Pym and Hope & Janet van Dyne are snapped out of existence, leaving Scott stranded in the sub-atomic dimension between Infinity War and Avengers 4. It's been speculated that he'll meet Captain Marvel there, but Holland's comments also make it seem likely that this is a big part of Doctor Strange's endgame, the only one of 14,000,605 outcomes he saw the Avengers win.

Strange has travelled between dimensions before, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he was involved in utilising the Quantum Realm to take down Thanos, and it's of course no surprise that it'd also involve him coming back from the dead, which is pretty much a given anyway. The Realm is next expected to be a part of Captain Marvel, and after that it's shaping up to be a huge part of Phase 3's climax.
