Magneto Shows Off His Power Upgrade In New X-Men: Apocalypse Concept Art!

Plus: Fassbender discusses where we find Mags ten years after Days of Future Past.

Some previously-unseen concept art for X-Men: Apocalypse has found its way online thanks to EW, as well as a video interview where Michael Fassbender slips up on spoiler-y details as to where we find Magneto at the onset of the film. First up, that concept art - which you can see above - is definitely an example of the power upgrade that Erik receives when he signs on the dotted line with Four Horsemen, Inc. The scale of it looks devastating, and correct me if I'm wrong, but does it look like he's destroying a concentration camp in that image? Either way, I also think the scene depicted in this concept art is the full picture of this Fassbender reaction shot from the trailer:
Looks pretty darn similar to me! Now, onto Fassbender's information bomb as to Magneto's circumstances at the beginning of Apocalypse; once again, fair spoiler warning here, folks.
"What happened after was he said, 'Okay, everybody's picking on me, it's best that I sort of go away for a while.' So he disappears. But what happens to him is he falls in love... In Poland! ...He's hiding out in Poland and he bumps into a girl in a bar, and they fall in love and they have a child and he starts a family. And he basically tries to live a normal life. And things happen, human beings of course come and spoil things again and start behaving badly."
The bombshell here of course is that Magneto has a wife and a kid! Considering that Quicksilver was introduced last go round - with an off-camera, deleted scene nod to his twin sister, Scarlet Witch - could the new child that Magneto has in this movie actually be a young Lorna Dane, aka Polaris? It'd be a cool nod, but she'd only be ten years old, at any rate. I'd also wager whatever fate befalls his family at the beginning of the movie will trigger Magneto's defection to Apocalypse's ranks, so don't expect his happy new family to last very long at all.

X-Men: Apocalypse is released on 19 May 2016 in the UK and 27 May in the US.
