It's been 7 years since Superman has been on the silver screen. While Bryan Singer's 2006 Superman Returns was actually a very solid film, it was extremely high on drama on very low on the action. All this promises to change in just about 2 months. The anticipation for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is growing, and early industry reviews are calling it the film of the summer. The Rebirth Of An Icon
In the past several years, DC Comics has refocused it's comic brands with the launch of their New 52 series of comics that returned all comic book series to Issue #1, complete with re-tellings of all DC character origins. Obviously included in this was Superman: now younger, more brash and unrefined (much like his earlier print days), unapologetic and headstrong, with a new suit to boot. These changes are sure to be present in Man of Steel, with the new version of the Superman costume already being seen in early promotional materials. This rebirth is still a work in progress in the New 52 comics, but Nolan and Goyer will attempt to move it forward with the film.
