3. Oh, And He Definitely Killed Robin (Or Is Him)
As if that Batman V Superman trailer wasn't enough of a giveaway, the fact that The Joker has a tattoo of a Robin on his body should serve as more than enough proof that he's responsible for the murder of the youngster (think of it as a trophy). It's actually been widely rumoured that we'll get to see that iconic scene from Death in the Family play out in one of those Batman V Superman's flashbacks, and Leto himself may have spoiled that with a now deleted Tweet. It's been claimed that Leto Tweeted a photo of a crowbar with the caption "HaHa" to Zack Snyder's son when the reports about him playing Robin first surfaced. If true, he inadvertently confirmed two big rumours, and spoiled a moment which the studio were no doubt hoping would be a surprise for fans. Or not. One very interesting fan theory which is gaining traction is that Jared Leto is actually playing Dick Grayson, the former Robin who went insane in The Dark Knight Returns universe and plagued Batman as a second generation Joker (this all played out in the critically panned The Dark Knight Strikes Back). Apparent scars on The Joker's body have been matched to those on the Robin costume in the Batcave, while certain quotes and moments in the trailer could potentially be in relation to a former sidekick eager for revenge. Just consider Bruce and Alfred's conversation about no one staying good in Gotham, and that taunting message he receives in the mail about letting his "family" die with this in mind. It seems far fetched, but you never know, it could happen. If so, Snyder had best brace himself for the backlash!
