8. Button Bashing
We've all played a beat 'em up game against someone who just bashes the same buttons over and over again, performing the same damn move ad nauseum until they're declared the winner. They'll pump their fist in the air while you sit back, resigned that you're playing against a 5 year old. It's an unwritten rule of beat 'em ups that you don't just spam the same button over and over again, because it's cheap, but the problem is that not enough games punish this sort of behaviour. Also, a skilled enough player would be able to turn their opponent's repetition into their worst enemy; they will become predictable, and therefore easily felled in theory. Yes, I've been annoyed by this before, but it's not an adequate excuse for repeatedly getting your ass kicked by your incompetent mate. Find a better strategy and deal with it.
