7. "The Learning Curve Is Too Steep"

This applies mainly to single player games, but it's a frequent criticism from challenging games like say, Dark Souls, that the learning curve is too steep and doesn't allow players to methodically learn the rules of the game before throwing you in at the deep end. Even if that's true, isn't it a pretty wimpy complaint about a game? If you've been playing video games since you were a wee nipper, that's not really an excuse at all; man up, give the game Hell, and either lower the difficulty or give up and stop whining about it.
You weren't good enough for the game. At least this being a structural complaint about the game is a lot easier to dispel - complain about this sort of thing online and you're liable to be hit back with a litany of abuse, with people insulting your lack of gaming prowess.
