Super Mario really needs to stop rehashing the same bosses over and over.

Bowser from the Super Mario franchise is the most famous video game boss of all time. Anyone who played the original Super Mario Bros. remembers the first time they came face-to-face with the devilish dinosaur on that lava bridge. Collapsing that bridge and causing the King of Koopas to plunge into the molten lava below is one of the most cherished memories of any gamer during the NES era.

Gamers loved this battle so much, Nintendo incorporated it into many other games. Ever since the Italian plumber's first encounter with his nemesis, the Super Mario franchise have used the classic "press the switch to drop Bowser into the lava" strategy over 25 times!! It's understandable Nintendo wants to commemorate the first battle between the two iconic characters. Their rivalry is unequalled in the gaming world. But at a certain point, it just comes across as lazy.

At one time, you could argue this laziness was due to the limitations of the system. And yet, we have modern Nintendo games that are, in terms of software, lightyears ahead of the old platformers, that suffer bosses with repetitive strategies, rehashed attacks, or pose no challenge.

Here are ten laziest bosses that Nintendo ever devised for the Super Mario franchise.

10. Cloud N Candy - Yoshi's Story

It must be difficult for developers to program the first boss of a game. By the time the player has reached the end of the first level, they are still probably getting the hang of the controls. Because of this, the first boss shouldn't be too hard. Then again, a boss is supposed to pose a challenge so they can't be too easy.

Which begs the question - When is a boss that is supposed to be easy... too easy? At the end of the first World of Yoshi's Island, you must go head-to-head with the nefarious and puffy Cloud N Candy. Every time you lick the puffball, she decreases in size. She will eventually become so small, Yoshi will eat her, ending the battle in about 20 seconds.

Cloud N Candy's only form of attack is bumping into you. However, every time you take a piece out of her, you regenerate health, making the fight a cinch. Even if you couldn't heal, this bout would still be considered unchallenging. The fact that you can recover health makes this boss so simple, it's practically impossible to lose.
