3. Halo TV Series

It is funny, and probably shows where Microsoft's head is that the most universally well received part of the conference was a TV show. Allow me a second while I gloat because just two days ago I suggested that a Halo series could be one of the
franchises to get a TV show next. So score for me. This has massive potential and if Microsoft release the series exclusively on the Xbox Live service, that will be a huge cout for the system. It isn't 100% clear exactly what Spielberg is on board to do, but I am going to guess that it is just to executively produce, i.e. what he did on Terra Nova and Falling Skies. Which basically sums up my worries for the series too. Spielberg hasn't exactly got the most spotless track record on TV, and he has produced his fair share of duds. Of course, it could be great and my inclination is that it likely will be on the good side of things, but still, lets not hoop and holler just yet. Plus, Spielberg is now the third of my favorite directors to promise me a live action Halo, so indulge me my scepticism If Xbox could really start pulling 'a Netflix' and get high profile content creators to produce exclusive shows for them, then their entertainment box might be better received. I would not be surprised to see Microsoft start pushing this content harder in the future and it seems to be in the sort of direction that they are going. Whether that is a good or bad thing, I am not 100% sure just yet.
