5 Things Insomniac's Spider-Man PS4 Sequel MUST Have

A web-slinging PS5 sequel should have these key things.

With the new generation of games console barreling straight for us, it's important to reflect on the last years of the PlayStation 4's seminal library of wonderful experiences to enjoy. One such recent example is 2018's Spider-Man, an exclusive to the console.

It was an absolute joy to play: the swinging was flawless, the fighting superb and deep, and the storyline was whimsical yet emotionally mature when necessary.

Naturally, with the end of the game revealing Harry Osborn submerged in a green water tank - not to mention the astronomical sales of the title - a sequel is inevitable.

Lore wise, Spidey has always been at the heart of many comic fans' love for Marvel due to his relatability and charm, not to mention his powers being naturally fun - and the baddies he squares off against are some of the most iconic in all of comics.

Therefore, here are five things that Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 definitely needs to include to match the first game's superhuman slam dunk.

What do you think? Is there a particular storyline or character you'd like to see rendered onto PlayStation by Insomniac? Swing it into the comments!

5. Green Goblin

Of course, I've already spoiled the ending, but come on, it's only natural that one of the Osbornes should step up to the glider in the wall crawler's second coming. Having existed as Spider-Man's most persistent and despised nemesis, bringing the goblin in for round two would solidify the series as one to refer to in discussions of how to make a compelling antagonist, as they did with Octavius.

Norman or Harry, it matters not, as both are interesting to pit against the web-head, and if they do with him what they did with Otto in the first it would solidify Insomniac's status as a developer who understands Spidey's villains as more than just proud, colourful maniacs.

Allow them time to portray Norman or Harry as a person with motivations and misguided implications - and then yes, make him look imposing in green and purple. They could even kill a major character in the place of Gwen Stacy if she's not around.

If there's a place to start with a web-slinging sequel, it needs to be with his worst enemy making a comeback for the PlayStation.
