7. Yuri Becoming The Wraith
One of the biggest surprises to come from The City That Never Sleeps was the fate of Spider-Man's police partner, Yuri Watanabe.
After suffering heavy losses to Hammerhead during the events of Turf Wars, Yuri decides to create her own form of justice and ends up shooting him to death. It's a surprisingly dark moment for a character we'd grown to love, and it's definitely a shame to see Spidey lose yet another ally.
We don't get to see Yuri again after she kills Hammerhead, but we definitely feel her presence in the city. The player can find several dead criminals throughout New York that tie to Yuri, with her even calling Spider-Man to denounce her previous ways.
Fans of the comics will know that Yuri has started her transformation into The Wraith, a vigilante figure that Spider-Man butts heads with several times.
It's pretty clear that Insomniac are setting up Yuri to play an even bigger role in the sequel, although it's pretty clear she won't be as friendly as before.
