The musical world is always on the lookout for the next big thing and in the past few years, a number of artists and groups from all sorts of genres and walks of life have made a name for themselves and achieved success in both the UK and around the world. Sadly, many of these are manufactured acts from the ever-growing array of 'talent' shows that litter the airwaves, but with the evolution of the Internet and the ever-growing interest in the independent music scene, a number of artists have managed to gain recognition for their talents in a more traditional sense, building followings and earning plaudits by paying their dues. The spring and summer of 2012 saw a diverse assortment of artists and bands, ranging from Rudimental to Rita Ora, put themselves on the map with their work and the last few months have been no different, as musical entities such as the fifteen featured on this list (in alphabetical order) have caught our attention with their auditory creations.
