8. How Did Voldemort Get His Wand Back?

Voldemort goes through several different stages in his existence during the books and movies. When we first see him, he is merely a creepy face on the back of another's head, sharing his body. Later, he is a phantom from a diary which turns out to be a Horcrux. It is not until the end of the fourth story in the chapter that he returns, in flesh and blood, to a whole and healthy body. Throughout this part of the series, The Goblet of Fire, Voldemort wields a wand.

The Priori Incantatem effect (the reversal of spells that occurs when Harry's and The Dark Lord's wands link in the graveyard) confirms that this is indeed Voldemort's own wand, as it divulges the fact that it had murdered Frank Bryce, the Muggle caretaker, but also both of Harry's parents.

So how did Voldemort get his wand back after years in exile, having been so thoroughly defeated by baby Harry back in Godric's Hollow?

According to Rowling, Wormtail, so desperate to curry favour with his master, salvaged it from the place where it had fallen and reunited wizard and wand. She jokes that it might have been difficult for a rat, but points out that they are after all intelligent creatures.
