8 Craziest Stories Told On The Joe Rogan Experience

7. Tyson Fury's Near Miss -  JRE MMA Show #47

In defeating Wladimir Klitschko to become the world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury had realised all his lifelong ambitions. Handing the Ukranian legend his first loss in over 10 years despite being a sizeable underdog, Fury had the world at his feet.

At least that's how it seemed...

In the years that followed Fury's iconic performance in Dusseldorf, he became embroiled in a series of controversies leading to an extended break from competition and an increased media scrutiny towards his personal life.

But it wasn't until the 'Gypsy King' appeared on the JRE MMA Show in 2018 that some of the details surrounding Fury's personal life during his hiatus became known to a wider audience.

Fury explains how achieving his greatest goal in Germany had left him feeling like he had fulfilled his sole purpose in life at just 27 years old, and subsequently spiralled into a vicious cycle of ever-deteriorating mental health mixed with drug and alcohol abuse.

Fury explains that while at his worst moment caught in the vice grip of depression he had taken his supercar out on the road and was careering towards certain death at 190mph before he had a change of heart and would subsequently embark on a journey to return to the ring and raise awareness about the mental health crisis.

With Fury's rematch with Deontay Wilder approaching this episode is essential viewing to get an insight into the psyche of the man who hopes to reclaim his throne at the peak of the heavyweight division.
