Harry Potter: 15 Most Powerful Wizards In The Wizarding World

13. Kingsley Shacklebolt

Kingsley Shacklebolt was one of the most frustratingly underused characters in the movies, but he still gave off an impressive air of almost regal power, and a lot of that comes courtesy of his billing as one of the best aurors in the wizarding world.

In the book series, he proves himself a particularly skilled duellist, defeating Rookwood at the Department of Mysteries and holding his own against Bellatrix Lestrange. Before that, he held off five Death Eaters and Voldemort when the Order tried to ferry Harry (and several fake Harrys) from Privet Drive to safety. He also later duelled another group of Death Eaters and Voldemort AGAIN in the Battle Of Hogwarts.

So, in other words, he survived fighting toe-to-toe with Voldemort twice without so much as a scratch. That's precisely why he was chosen to protect the Muggle Prime Minister and why he eventually went on to become the Minister Of Magic.
