10. Stipe Regains The UFC Heavyweight Championship
When it comes to Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier, the revenge wasn’t particularly one laced in animosity and hatred – far from it, in fact – but it was nevertheless revenge served up in a brutal fashion.
After DC shocked the world by making the step up to heavyweight and defeating Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 226, the powerhouse Stipe was laser-focussed on avenging this loss and regaining his title. And regain his title, he most certainly did.
In the UFC 241 rematch that took place this past August, Cormier actually dominated the first two, maybe three rounds. But it was towards the end of that third round that Miocic started to expose some weaknesses in DC’s heavyweight game.
By Round 4, Stipe laid in shot after shot as he got the TKO victory over Cormier and left him in a bloody and battered heap – to the point where Daniel Cormier is now unsure on whether to actually continue on with his UFC career.
