Match Preview

Arsenal's late victory over Norwich at the weekend leaves Arsene Wenger's men in pole position to claim a Champions League place, but with Everton putting together a run of four wins in five, David Moyes might yet still retain hope of gatecrashing the party. Tonight's game is something of a straight shoot-out for European qualification next season. With Chelsea having been incapacitated by FA Cup action at the weekend, both have a fantastic opportunity to stake their respective claims for a top four spot. A win for the Toffees would leave them just a point behind tonight's hosts, while a win for the Gunners would put clear daylight between the two. Manager David Moyes was philosophical of his side's chances this evening. He said:
"If we can go and win at Arsenal, then I think you might say we've got a chance of being involved in the Champions League. "If we don't, you'll probably say we've got a chance of making the Europa League. No matter what happens at Arsenal, the players have given themselves a great chance."
Predicted Scoreline
Arsenal 2-1 Everton I predict Everton's tilt for a top four spot to end tonight. The Toffees have not won at the Emirates since 1996 and are without a win in any of their last four away league matches. Arsenal are also in free-scoring mode and only Manchester United have bagged more goals than the Gunners this season. All this makes for ominous reading for Everton fans, and it's difficult to build a compelling case for David Moyes' side tonight. All statistics courtesy of the
