6. Brede Hangeland
Club: Fulham Brede Hangeland€™s current contract with Fulham runs out in the summer, and manager Martin Jol has said his side will do all they can to keep him, but he might still look away from London for his next career move. He is a great player, and though he is older than some of the other options on this list, he has a relatively unblemished injury record, and played every game for Fulham last term. That must surely appeal with Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Phil Jones all injury prone in the past. Hangeland's aerial prowess is a particular strength, and he earlier this year he had an incredible 87.4% pass-success-rate from an average of 47 passes per-game, according to football statistics provider
Whoscored.com. And most importantly of all, Hangeland would fit Fergie's model for bringing in veteran stars who could add things to the first team - he did it with Laurent Blanc, Edwin Van Der Saar and Henrik Larsson previously, and he should consider doing it with the Fulham stopper. He is certainly fit enough, and he has the ability to make a starting position his own.
