Man Utd Transfers: 5 More Signings Needed To Fix Red Devils

Manchester United are today expected to announce the signing of Juan Mata after Chelsea agreed a £37 million bid earlier in the week. Mata is expected in Manchester today for his medical and is set to agree personal terms before putting his signature on a four-and-a-half-year contract at Old Trafford. The capture of the midfielder comes at a difficult period for United, who are out of the FA Cup, League Cup and title race and struggling badly under David Moyes. Barring an unlikely Champions League win, the defending English champions will finish up empty handed in May as Moyes starts to feel the pressure. The acquisition of Mata, it is hoped, will help reverse fortunes on the pitch and improve results, and though it is certainly a step in the right direction, it doesn't solve all problems. There is still a lot of work to be done at United in these uncertain times of transition, brought about by Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement last year.
