Newcastle 1-0 Fulham: 5 Key Things We Learned

2. These 3 Points Could be Invaluable

Papiss Cisse Everyone knew before kickoff that three points would be invaluable but now Newcastle have them, we know how much safer things look. Saturday wasn€™t a great day for Newcastle, with Southampton and Villa winning, dropping points was out of the question. With Sunderland leading, at half time and Newcastle drawing 0-0, things weren€™t looking good. However with the turnaround at the Bridge and Newcastle winning things look very different. Rather than being perilously close to the drop Newcastle are a bit clear. They were almost on for a perfect Sunday with Wigan losing at QPR till late on but it was still a very good Sunday all the same. Newcastle are now five points clear in thirteenth position and this gives them a bit of breathing space. Newcastle are by no means safe but fans saw the game on Sunday and the derby with Sunderland next weekend as must win and with one of two must wins won, this match could be seen as one of the big steps towards safety if they get there at the end of the season.
