There is a lot of speculation going around at the minute as we approach the summer; Southampton clearly face a big challenge keeping hold of their best players, despite the exceptional season they have had in the Premier League. So, with that in mind this slideshow is designed to look at the club and which players they must fight hardest to hang onto. Although, some people would also argue that keeping their current manager in charge is of almost equal importance. The Saints are currently ninth in the Premier League after 27 games, and will be pleased that they currently enjoy an eight point advantage over 10th place West Ham. Last season, the club finished in 14th place with 41 points, placing them just five points above the relegation zone. So, whatever happens from this point, it seems likely that the club will have enjoyed a much improved season. Obviously, they will want to keep that forward momentum going and the way to do that is keep your best players, and add more quality to the squad if possible.
