9. No Xenomorphs In Prometheus 2?

One of the biggest sources of contention with Ridley Scott's 2012 Alien prequel Prometheus is that the film didn't quite connect to Alien in a satisfying way, leaving some fans frustrated about that various loose ends and fuzzy connections between the two films. Scott will apparently stray even farther from the previous films in the upcoming and still untitled Prometheus sequel, which is slated for release in March 2016. In a new interview with Yahoo, Scott teased that the iconic Xenomorphs that plagued Ellen Ripley and her crew in the Alien films won't be heading back to the big screen along with the pale Engineers we were introduced to in 2012:
"The beast is done. Cooked. I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It€™s very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it€™s obscene. They didn€™t want to do it and I said, €˜I want to do it, it€™s fantastic€™. But after four, I think it wears out a little bit. There€™s only so much snarling you can do. I think you€™ve got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we€™ve found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start."
It's a vague quote, to say the least, but it sounds like Scott has something new up his sleeve for his next foray into the iconic franchise. Let's just hope it's more satisfying than last time.
