10 Reasons 2015 Is The Perfect Year To Become A Doctor Who Fan

5. Gallifrey

The first entry on the list that new and existing NuWho fans can experience together. Again, by the way, spoilers! Whilst many original series fans have travelled to Gallifrey before, the Doctor€™s home planet has been lost - assumed destroyed - since the moment the show returned. During the 50th anniversary extravaganza, however, it was revealed that this thankfully was not the case. Whilst the planet remains lost, there is every chance the Doctor is about to return to Gallifrey for the first time since the show returned to our screens. This is, of course, an exciting moment for existing fans. Visiting the Citidel, looking up at that burnt orange sky, those silver trees and most of all meeting Time Lords anew, is exciting and makes for some really interesting interactions. No one but, perhaps, Steven Moffat knows what to expect when Gallifrey finally does return but no matter what it's comeback will entail, the moment the planet finally reveals itself will be truly epic. The best part, of course, is that fans new and old will get to experience that together. Learning new things about Doctor Who is amazing - just because you get to talk about it. Gallifrey will be a talking point that will ignite the passions of even the most jaded of fans. It€™s a moment that will live on and give fans old and new a bond that, sometimes, just being a fan doesn€™t provide.
