11 Things You Didn’t Know About Kit Harington

“You know nothing, Jon Snow.”

Jon Snow: Ned Stark’s son from the North, Man Of The Night’s Watch and The One With The Best Hair In Westeros.

What can be said about Kit Harington that hasn't already been said? He's certainly very easy on the eyes, as well as his fine hair, but it's now seemingly got to the point where the obsession with how good he looks has become something of an issue for him:

"When people focus too much on people's looks or appearance for a role, it can sometimes feel like that is all that's being focused on. Sometimes you want to try and get away from that."

Other than his famous role in Game Of Thrones, Kit's starred in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, Pompeii, Seventh Son and the original West End production of War Horse. He is also going to appear in the upcoming short film, 7 Days In Hell and Spooks: The Greater Good, a role that he's nervous to mess up because of its already-huge fan-base. Hollywood seemingly just can't get enough of the English lad, and honestly, who could blame them?

To celebrate the world falling head over heels for the Stark bastard, here are 11 facts you probably didn't know about him.

11. He Is A Descendant Of Aristocracy

The Haringtons descended from the 4th Earl of Dartmouth and interest in Kit's past extends through the generations.

His great great great great grandfather (or something) was King Charles II and his uncle is a baronet. While he says the rest of the world don't really care, Americans seem particularly fascinateD: "There's an unhealthy obsession in America with royalty and the class system," he said in an interview back in 2014. "'Oh, my God, you're the son of a duke!' I'm not an anti-royalist, but who gives a sh*t?"

He also loathes Downtown Abbey for glamorizing the whole scene; "I really disagree with Downton Abbey on lots of f*cking levels," says Harington. "It celebrates the class system, and its kind of overall message seems to be, 'Wasn't it good when everybody knew their place within society?' Why should we hark back to those times? It was bullsh*t. We got out of that, and thank the f*ck we did."

Alright, Kit, remain calm.
