Lets start with one that might surprise some people. Yes, bearded wizard, master of magnetism and pal of Patrick Stewart Sir Ian McKellen has appeared in Doctor Who. The veteran thespian who has starred in the X-Men films since 2000 guested as the voice of the Great Intelligence in 2012s Christmas special, The Snowmen. The role was subsequently taken over by Richard E. Grant for the rest of Series Seven. McKellens Doctor Who connection doesn't stop there, however, as he also appeared as himself in the spoof Five(ish) Doctors Reboot special, made by Peter Davison for the shows fiftieth anniversary. In it, he memorably showed disdain for his The Hobbit co-star and former Doctor, Sylvester McCoy.
