5 Things You Must Know To Survive Game of Thrones Universe

Here are our tips on how to stay alive in Westeros (spoilers for the show's first two seasons ahead:)

The world of Westeros is one fraught with danger, and not only just because Winter is apparently coming. At some point. Do you think you would have what it takes to keep your head attached to your shoulders? Here are our tips on how to stay alive in Westeros (spoilers for the show's first two seasons ahead:)

5. Don't Be a Bastard

It's an unfortunate prerequisite, as you wouldn't have any say or control in the matter ahead of time, but your family name and parents are vastly important factors in your survival rate. If you're a bastard, you reap the the after-effects of your father's horniness, and depending on who said father is, you may just be executed. The season two premiere ended on a lovely note of Robert Baratheon's bastard children getting axed or drowned or stabbed (ah, HBO, you really do love outdoing yourself, do you not?). The good news is that being a bastard does not spell immediate death for you. You may end up as a daring member of the Night's Watch! You know, where you patrol an icy wall for the rest of your life, and will likely eventually find death via White Walker or Wildling or frostbite. Westeros is a world that loves family name, and if your family name is mud (or Snow, in this case), then you lose AND you die. Click "next" below to read the next entry...
