Doctor Who: 7 Great Eleventh Doctor Stories

The last part of our ongoing series of Great Doctor Who stories!

The next series of Eleventh Doctor stories begins on Saturday! As the last part of our ongoing series of Great Doctor Who stories, let€™s have a look at the great ones from the current Doctor! Matt Smith, the youngest actor to play the Doctor, had some very large Converse shoes to fill when he stepped into David Tennant€™s role. Tennant had made the show what it is, for better or worse, and now along came this new actor no one had ever heard of. Would he be up to the task? I was certainly skeptical. But how glad I was to be proven very wrong! Smith was indeed up to the task, and has gone on to become a very good Doctor, and while not all his stories have been gems, there€™s seven that really stand out as great. Let€™s have a look at them!

7. The Eleventh Hour (Story 203, 2010)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkCQT2831X4 The first story of the Eleventh Doctor€™s era was, surprisingly, quite good. I had really loathed €œThe Christmas Invasion€, especially the ending (really? People can€™t tell the difference between ash and snow? REALLY?), and other introductory stories like, €œRobot€, €œCastrovalva€, €œThe Twin Dilemma€ and €œTime and the Rani€ had all experienced various degrees of suckage. As such, I had no faith that this one would be any better. I was pleasantly surprised. From the start we got a sweet look at young Amy Pond and then got to see her older and a bit more jaded. We also got to meet Rory and learn a bit about him. Best of all, we continuity whores out there got the delight of seeing images of every Doctor, as well as clips from old and new series episodes. The overall feeling of change away from the Davies era was present and quite welcome as well.
