An American TV sitcom Friends began airing on NBC from 1994 till 2004. The story was about six friends living in New York City and each of them was special in their own way. Love stories, tears, fun and laughter - this is what you can find in the show.

How I Met Your Mother was also an American TV sitcom, which began airing in 2005, right after Friends ended. The show received positive reviews and attracted the attention of many fans.

Some similarities have been drawn between the characters of these sitcoms and maybe this was the reason why How I Met Your Mother also achieved great success.

Two of the main characters, Ross Geller and Ted Mosby, have so much in common. They were both described as hopeless romantics in the endless search of “the one”. Ross Geller was known to be so smart, polite, kind and at the same time having a sharp-witted sense of humour. While Ted Mosby was also known to be romantic, kind-hearted, smart, and an optimist, he always believed in true love and destiny.
