Game Of Thrones was a complete home run for HBO when it arrived nearly a decade ago. The intertwined storytelling and slow character development was set against a fantasy backdrop that people couldn't get enough of.
The fans quickly established who they wanted to see succeed and who they wanted to see fall in the show, and where most wanted to see Jon Snow and the Stark's prevail, even more than that wanted to see the Lannister's meet a sticky end. Queen among them was Cersei, a woman of pure cunning and malice, she was a formidable enemy and a conniving leader.
Her actions in the series brought about the reckoning that King's Landing eventually faced when Daenerys Targaryen and Drogon burned the city to within an inch of its foundations. She was the person chiefly responsible for the horror that befell her family, as well as the division within it.
Cersei had but one redeeming feature and that was her love for her children, though they were the children of incest, she always acted on their behalf and was genuinely devastated when each of them met their end.
