Game Of Thrones Season 4 Spoilers: 9 Characters Who Will Probably Die

HBO are promising more deaths than ever before - so who is definitely up for the chop?

There are two shows more than any - both currently in various stages of screening - that confirm just how blood-thirsty all modern TV audiences are: the first was The Walking Dead, which takes near perverse pleasure in defying audience expectations and fan love to kill any main character at any time, and the second will see its fourth season kick off this weekend. After the bloody finale to season 3 and the frankly jaw-dropping events of the Red Wedding, Game Of Thrones has a considerable burden of entertainment expectations to live up to. The HBO show-makers set a ridiculously high bar for themselves, but luckily for them the source material in the second half of Martin's A Storm Of Swords offers ample opportunity for engagement. Naturally, this being the wonderfully morbid world of Westeros, we can expect a significant death toll in the coming episodes, with very few of even the most leading of characters considered safe from cold, hard grasp of Death. As Michael McElhatton, who plays the traitorous Roose Bolton confirms: "There's a huge power shift certainly in Season 4 and going into Season 5. It should be exciting. Nobody is safe on Game Of Thrones. No character is too big to die." So who can we expect to make up the kill-list? The following is by no means an exhaustive list: we have already been promised by Kit Harrington among others, that season 4 is going to be the bloodiest yet with more deaths than any of the seasons to date, and a significant number of the deaths are less notable than some that have come before, and don't necessarily warrant too much attention here. Needless to say, there are spoilers within, taken from Martin's book series, so proceed with caution.
