10 UFC Fighters Who Died This Past Decade

9. Ryan Jimmo

Ryan Jimmo was first introduced to UFC fans as a cast member on the eighth season of the Ultimate Fighter reality series. While Jimmo lost his bout to gain entry into The Ultimate Fighter house, UFC officials were impressed with his performance and would eventually sign him.

In July of 2012, at UFC 149, the Canadian light heavyweight made his promotional debut. Jimmo made the most of the opportunity by knocking out his opponent, Anthony Perosh, in just seven seconds. Jimmo's knockout victory was tied for the second-fastest in UFC history at the time.

Despite the hot start, the former reality star had a tough go of it in the UFC. After compiling a 3-4 record with the promotion, Jimmo was released in May of 2015.

Sadly, almost a year later, in June of 2016, Ryan Jimmo would be murdered. A verbal altercation between Jimmo and a man named Anthony Getschel took place in a parking lot at 2:15 am. Following the exchange, Getschel, who was inside a pickup truck at the time, accelerated and fatally struck Jimmo as he was walking away. The former UFC fighter was 34-years-old at the time.

Anthony Getschel would later plead guilty to manslaughter.
